Fox Glacier Guiding NZ

Te Moeka o Tuawe / Fox Glacier, New Zealand

On the rugged West Coast of New Zealand, thirteen kilometres in length, the steep valleyed landscape of Fox Glacier ends in a rainforest only 300 metres above sea level below.
Since the 1800s the New Zealand glaciers have been releasing more water to rivers than they are gaining each year from snowfall in response to the present warming climate and have rapidly been in retreat since 2009.  It is now only possible to access the glacier by helicopter.
